ABOUT THE ARTIST
My name is Eric Anderson; I am an artist and the founder of E. Anderson Originals.
I am confident that my non-traditional paintings are a direct result of the non-traditional path I took to become an artist. Growing up in southeastern Massachusetts, I was drawn to any art-related activity from an early age and my affinity for the creative process expanded into the digital realm when I was in high school.
After graduating from Boston College in 2008, I worked as a Producer with a focus on videos, live and virtual events and graphic/web/interactive design. I also spent time working in landscaping, construction and masonry, building decks, patios and stone walls. On these jobs I learned how to manage the finicky nature of concrete and mastered the many ways it is used on site. At the same time, I marveled at the beauty it can produce if handled properly, and constantly found myself imagining how it could be incorporated into my artwork.
Painting, however, has always been my true passion. This love is the reason I made the difficult but invigorating decision to pursue my lifelong dream, and I committed to becoming a full-time artist. Soon after making this career transition, I discovered my multifaceted background and varied skillset were both valuable assets. My experiences allowed me to approach paintings with an uncommon and intriguing perspective, and ultimately led to the discovery of my artistic voice and unique style. While developing my style, I was compelled to produce a method that harnessed the essence of street art and portrayed it in paintings that were practical, approachable and appealing to a wide-ranging audience. I realized I had been successful in this endeavor when the response to my paintings was immediate and overwhelmingly positive.
Today, I live and work in Dorchester, Massachusetts, a diverse and action-packed neighborhood in Boston, with my wife, Jessica, and our beloved rescue dog, Ellie.
