COMMMISSION
My goal during a commissioned project is to ensure you, as the patron, are 100% satisfied with the final painting and that you enjoy the experience working with me. i will help you select a photo or image and then transform it into a unique, beautiful piece of art created to your exact specifications and preferences. The final product is a one of a kind piece that will be cherished by you and your family for years to come.
below are examples of past commissioned projects featuring the original images provided by patrons and the corresponding final paintings…
Every aspect of a commissioned painting with E. Anderson Originals is customizable, including the creative process. I am always willing to discuss budget and timeline considerations, and will work with you to select a source image that is meaningful and one that will produce a quality piece of art in this unique style.
I also invite the patron to dictate their preferred level of involvement. Some prefer to be more involved and choose to provide specific instructions in regard to details of the painting, including size, color, texture, content and more. In other projects, the customer communicates only a broad request or some general preferences, electing to step back and let me control the process. Both scenarios are entirely acceptable.

Below are some detailed explanations for several commissioned projects, explaining the thought process and how customers and I worked together to create something special. Please contact me if you have any questions or would like to discuss a potential project.
“NURSERY TOYS” (30” X 38” EACH)
I was contacted by a couple who had just purchased a home, and they were looking for custom artwork to display in their children’s pink and blue playroom. We spent some time brainstorming content, and ultimately decided it would be best to create two paintings, one for each child’s favorite stuffed animal. I set images of the toys against realistic pink and blue bricks, which were matched to the room’s existing color palette perfectly and provided a striking level of texture and depth. The finished paintings fit beautifully in the playroom and will be enjoyed by their children for years.
“miami nationalities” (60” X 22”)
This customer requested a painting that combined his pride in his family’s heritage with the beautiful skyline of Miami, where he was born and raised and resides to this day. I spent hours searching for the perfect image of the city while also brainstorming ways to include the nationalities he requested. I decided to combine each country’s flag to create a backdrop that I painted using graffiti and street art techniques, and the skyline was added on top using 12+ detailed stencils and various shades of black/grey/white spray paint. Everything came together beautifully. The painting is six feet wide, and its significant size and bright colors truly make this a statement piece and a wonderful addition to the customer’s home.
“casey’s shoe” (48” X 30”)
The patron for this project returned home after years living overseas and found himself in an apartment without a single piece of artwork. As a result, he requested a painting that would be the focal point of the living area, but could also act as “starting point” and help guide him in the selection of additional pieces. Without a set color palette, he asked that we make something more traditional and upscale, increasing the odds of it fitting into whatever direction was ultimately decided on during decorating. Taking that into consideration, we agreed on a blue/grey/white gradient and a small pop of color. The content for the piece proved to be much more difficult for us to nail down, and we spent weeks brainstorming potential images without success. Eventually, I came across a photo of an old shoe he had posted to social media years ago, and created a mockup of a painting featured that image and the colors we had chosen. After tweaking a few details, we both felt confident that it was perfect and I set to work bringing the vision to life. The final piece accomplished the initial goal and then some, and it is displayed prominently in the living room alongside many pieces that complement it beautifully.
“GRADUATION” (27” X 18”)
The patron in this project was working with a limited budget, and commissioned a smaller piece to celebrate his daughter’s graduation. He provided a photo from her special day that included her two brothers, and I spent a considerable amount of time manipulating the image to shade it properly and ensure it contrasted appropriately when paired with a colorful backdrop. The details of the painting are intriguing and it is a timeless piece that is displayed proudly in their living room.
“lion and lioness” (48” X 30”)
While on vacation in Mexico, this customer came across a photo of a lion and lioness and instantly fell in love with its representation of love, loyalty and the unbreakable bond between parents. He asked me to recreate the photo while adding a personal touch, and planned to hang the finished product in his bedroom. The customer and I first determined the exact size that fit properly in the space, and then I created a backdrop that highlighted the content without drawing attention away from the focal points. The bright colors of the sunset created a lighter sky, which contrasted nicely with the darker image of the lions. The surface the lions are standing on required a totally different approach, and I executed this area in a way that looks and feels like real stone. There are countless details to explore in this striking painting, and the use of texture and depth make it truly captivating.
